There is only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving,
and that’s your own self.
-Aldous Huxley
Life without growth is no life at all.Whether you’re aware of it or not,
you’re always looking for ways to grow yourself.
you’re always looking for ways to grow yourself.
Because all we are is ever changing. We. are. always. changing.
But the thing is, we may not be changing in the direction that leads us to a healthier, happier life. In order to make sure that we’re always on track to go in the right direction, we need to assess and measure progress and growth.
Which leads me to my question:
What do we do now, that science has found we’re not good at assessing ourselves on things like attractiveness, intelligence, or creativity?
What do we do now, that science has found we’re not good at assessing ourselves on things like attractiveness, intelligence, or creativity?
And one answer:
We can finally learn to assess ourselves on things other than:
Am I pretty enough?
Am I smart?
Am I unique enough?
Am I pretty enough?
Am I smart?
Am I unique enough?
Since you’re terrible at measuring your attractiveness, intelligence, and creativity anyway, you might as well release that need to measure yourself on those traits and measure yourself on things that matter. Stop looking in the mirror and asking yourself whether you look good today. Stop looking around the room to see how you can prove to everyone how brilliant you are. Stop looking outward – and look inward.
Health: What can you measure yourself on as related to your health? How much energy do you have throughout the day?
Fulfillment & Joy: How happy are you in life? How well do you know yourself, and your ultimate life vision?
Once you know what you want to measure progress in, figure out how you’ll measure that progress.
